BIOGRAPHY: 

        At the time of the 1870 Census, Eden, Hancock County, ME (Series: M593; Roll: 544; Page: 448), Marston (D.) was 16 years old, a sailor, and living with his Father, John (41), a blacksmith; his Mother, Endora (McFarland) (42); his brother, Wilbur R. (14); his sister, Almira S. (11); his brother, Bayard T. (9); his sister, Jennie E. (7); and his brother, John R. (5). Living next door to them was Reuben Salisbury (67), a ship carpenter, who was probably related to John (father?).

        At the time of the 1880 Census, Eden, Hancock County, ME (Series: T9; Roll: 480; Page: 351; District: 157), Marston B. was 27 years old, a sailor, and living with his Father, John S. (51), a blacksmith; his Mother, Endora (52); his brothers, Wilbur R. (24), a stone cutter; Bayard (G.) (19), a common laborer; his sister, Jennie E. (18); and his brother, John R. (16).

        Marston married Sarah E. Unknown, between 1880 and 1884.

        At the time of the 1900 Census, Marston B. was 47 years old, an engineer, and living at 8 Cedar Avenue, Eden, ME (Series: T623; Roll: 592; Page: 92; District: 53), with his wife, Sarah E. (37); his son, George L. (16); his son, Persis (14); and his Mother, Endora (46). They were all born in Maine, probably in Bar Harbor, which was called Eden until 1918. 

        At the time of the 1910 Census, Marston B. was 57 years old, an engineer, and living at 36 Greeley Avenue, Eden, Hancock County, ME (Series: T624; Roll: 540; Page: 187; District: 64 - image is illegible), with his wife Sarah E. (47); and his son Persis (24), an electrician. His son, George, had died some time after the 1900 Census.

        At the time of the 1920 Census, Marston B. was 67 years old, widowed, and living at 36 Greeley Avenue, Bar Harbor, Hancock County, ME (Series: T625; Roll: 642; Page: 139; District: 4), with his son, Persis (34), an electrician; his daughter-in-law, Mary G. (24); and his granddaughter Marion G., 2 years and 1 month old.

        At the time of the 1930 Census, Marston was 78 years old, and living at 36 Greeley Avenue, Bar Harbor, ME (Series: T626; Roll: 832; Page: 246; District: 3), with his son, Persis (44), an electrician, listed as head of household; his daughter-in-law, Mary G. (33); and his granddaughters, Marion G. (12), and Isabel F. (9).

BIOGRAPHY: 

        Sarah married Marston Burritt Salisbury, between 1880 and 1884.

        At the time of the 1900 Census, Sarah E. was 37 years old, and living at 8 Cedar Avenue, Eden, ME (Series: T623; Roll: 592; Page: 92; District: 53), with her husband, Marston B. (47), an engineer; her son, George L. (16); her son, Persis (14); and her mother-in-law, Endora (46). They were all born in Maine, probably in Bar Harbor, which was called Eden until 1918. 

        At the time of the 1910 Census, Sarah E. was 47 years old, and living at 36 Greeley Avenue, Eden, Hancock County, ME (Series: T624; Roll: 540; Page: 187; District: 64 - image is illegible), with her husband, Marston B. (57), an engineer; and her son Persis (24), an electrician. Her son, George, had died some time after the 1900 Census. 
Sarah's father was born in Maine, but her mother was French Canadian.

DEATH: Sarah died between 1910 and 1920, in Maine.

        At the time of the 1900 Census, George L. was 16 years old, and living at 8 Cedar Avenue, Eden, ME (Series: T623; Roll: 592; Page: 92; District: 53), with his Father, Marston B. (47), an engineer; his Mother, Sarah E. (37); his brother, Persis (14); and his Grandmother, Endora (46). They were all born in Maine, probably in Bar Harbor, which was called Eden until 1918. 

DEATH: George died some time between 1900 and 1910, in Maine.

 

Persis Marston Salisbury

BIRTH: Oct 1885, Maine

BIOGRAPHY: 

        At the time of the 1900 Census, Persis was 14 years old, and living at 8 Cedar Avenue, Eden, ME (Series: T623; Roll: 592; Page: 92; District: 53), with his Father, Marston B. (47), an engineer; his Mother, Sarah E. (37); his brother, George L. (16); and his Grandmother, Endora (46). They were all born in Maine, probably in Bar Harbor, which was called Eden until 1918.  

        At the time of the 1910 Census, Persis was 24 years old, an electrician, and living at 36 Greeley Avenue, Eden, Hancock County, ME (Series: T624; Roll: 540; Page: 187; District: 64 - image is illegible), with his Father, Marston B. (57), an engineer; and his Mother, Sarah E. (47).  His brother George had died some time after the 1900 Census.

        Persis married Mary G. Crothers in 1917.

        At the time of the 1920 Census, Persis was 34 years old, an electrician, and living at 36 Greeley Avenue, Bar Harbor, Hancock County, ME (Series: T625; Roll: 642; Page: 139; District: 4), with his Father, Marston B. (67), widowed, and still listed as head of household; his wife, Mary G. (24); and his daughter Marion G., 2 years and 1 month old.

        At the time of the 1930 Census, Persis was 44 years old, an electrician, and listed as head of household, at 36 Greeley Avenue, Bar Harbor, ME (Series: T626; Roll: 832; Page: 246; District: 3), with his wife, Mary G. (33); his daughter Marion G. (12); his daughter Isabel F. (9), and his Father, Marston B. (78).
